Women’s Cross Country Earns Fourth Spot in MASCAC Preseason Poll

Framingham, Mass.- The Framingham State University women's cross country team has placed fourth in the 2023 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women's Cross Country Preseason Poll as voted upon by the MASCAC coaches. 

The Rams earned 21 points to land fourth in the poll. Meghan Johnston is back for the Rams after crossing the line 17th in a time of 20:38 at the 2022 meet. 

Westfield State had six first place votes for 36 points to earn the top spot. Earning the other first place vote is Bridgewater State in second with 28 points. Fitchburg State is up next in third with 27 points. Sitting in fifth place is Worcester State with 17 points and closing out the 2023 preseason poll are Massachusetts Maritime and MCLA in sixth and seventh with 12 points and six points, respectively.  

The Rams open up the 2023 campaign on Saturday, September 2nd when they compete at the Jim Sheehan Memorial Invite hosted by Fitchburg State.
