Framingham, Mass. – The Framingham State University volleyball team held off the Salem State University Vikings in tight second and third sets to record a 3-0 victory this evening in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action at the Athletic Center.

Framingham State (8-2, 1-0 MASCAC) easily took the first game 25-12, before the Vikings (1-2, 0-1 MASCAC) capitalized on a slew of Ram miscues in the second to erase a 12-3 deficit and pull within three at 18-15. The Rams regrouped taking the frame 25-20 and went on to break open an 8-8 tied game and take the third 25-16.

Sophomore Alycia Rackliffe (Feeding Hills, Mass.) led the Rams with nine kills, three aces, six digs and two blocks, while junior Danielle Girard (Tivoli, NY) picked up seven kills, two aces and five digs.  Senior Maribeth Martin (Barnstable, Mass.) chipped in 12 set assists, while classmate Courtney Wilbur (Braintree, Mass.) added 17 defensive digs.

The Vikings were led by eight kills from junior Emily Peay (Lebanon, Conn.). Peay also added four digs and three blocks.  Julie O'Coin (Marlborough, Mass.) chipped in four kills and four digs, while Micaela Forcaciari (Plymouth, Mass.) contributed 15 assists, five digs and an ace.
