Volleyball Opens MASCAC Action with 3-0 Win Over Salem

Salem, Mass. - Framingham State extended their current winning streak to three games as they opened Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) play with a 3-0 shutout over the Salem State Vikings.

Junior Maribeth Martin (Barnstable, Mass.) led the Rams, who improved to 7-1 overall and 1-0 in the conference, with 16 assists and six digs. Framingham State won the first two sets 25-18, 25-14, before stopping the Vikings in a close third set, 26-24.

Julia Wan (South Deerfield, Mass.) played well in the victory recording 10 kills and eight digs, while Alycia Rackliffe (Feeding Hills, Mass.) chipped in with seven kills and three blocks.

Salem State (1-3, 0-1) was led by MacKenzie Carpenter's (Peabody, Mass.) 17 assists and seven digs, while Jazmin Santos (Lawrence, Mass.) and Jerika Santiago (Methuen, Mass.) combined for 10 kills and 10 digs in the loss.

Framingham State will host Emmanuel on Thursday evening at 6 p.m., while Salem State will travel to Newbury next Thursday for a 7 p.m. match.
