Volleyball Remains Unbeaten with a Pair of Victories at UMass Dartmouth Invitational

North Dartmouth, Mass. – The Framingham State University volleyball team continued their hot start with a pair of 3-0 victories this evening over Salem State and Eastern Nazarene at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth Invitational.

In their first match, the Rams extended their season opening win streak to five with a straight set victory over Salem State. The Rams defeated the Vikings by scores of 25-13, 26-24 and 25-11.

Junior Andressa Fernandes (Framingham, Mass.) led the Rams in match one with 12 kills, two aces and seven digs, while sophomore Ashley Nee (Hanson, Mass.) chipped in five kills, nine digs and three blocks.

Match two of the evening finished like the first with the Rams taking the victory in three by scores of 25-18, 29-27 and 25-12.

Fernandes and Nee once again had strong matches against Eastern Nazarene with 12 kills apiece.  Fernandes filled the stat sheet with three aces and 12 digs, while Nee racked up 11 digs and five blocks.  Sophomore Kassandra Jermyn (Auburn, Mass.) chipped in 20 assists.

The Rams close out the tournament with a pair of matches at the tournament as they face Regis College at noon and the host Corsairs at 2 p.m.
