Nee and Fernandes Lead Volleyball Past Mount Ida

Newton, Mass. – The Framingham State University women's volleyball team received strong games from the duo of sophomore Ashley Nee (Hanson, Mass.) and junior Andressa Fernandes (Framingham, Mass.) to defeat Mount Ida College 3-0 this evening on the road in non-conference action.

The Rams won by scores of 25-11, 15-25, 25-18 and 25-21 and with the victory improve to 4-0 on the young season, while the Mustangs are now 0-2.

Nee and Fernandes each picked up double doubles with double digit kills and digs.  Nee collected a game and season-high 20 kills on 33 attacks with just four errors to go along with 12 digs, while Fernandes continued her strong start to the season with 13 kills and 12 digs.

Sophomore Michelle DeJesus (Framingham, Mass.) led the Rams defensive effort with a game-best 19 digs.  Sophomore Morgan Drew (North Easton, Mass.) and freshman Kassandra Jermyn (Auburn, Mass.) each chipped in double digit assists with 21 and 17 respectively.

The Rams return to action this Friday evening at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth Invitational with a pair of matches and the tournament concludes on Saturday with a final pair of matches for the Rams.
