Volleyball Falls at Eastern Connecticut 3-0

Willimantic, Conn. - In the first meeting between the two programs in 25 years, the Eastern Connecticut State University Warriors defeated Framingham State University 3-0 tonight in non-conference volleyball action.

With the loss the Rams are now 16-9 on the season, while the Warriors improve to 16-7.

Erynn Miller had a career-high 16 digs to carry Eastern to its ninth win in its last 11 matches and its eighth straight home victory after three opening losses.

A winner of eight of its previous ten, Framingham received 11 digs and four kills from freshman standout Ashley Nee (Hanson, Mass.) and nine digs from classmate Michelle DeJesus (Milford, Mass.). Fellow freshman Morgan Drew chipped in 13 assists.

Katie Wilson and Samanthat Slonski combined for 25 of Eastern's 37 kills and a .409 attack percentage. Slonski also had three service aces, eight assists and seven digs while Wilson added nine digs. Gianna Trombino contributed 11 assists and five digs.

The Rams return to action on Saturday with a non-conference tri-match at Newbury College.
