Volleyball Splits with Eastern Nazarene and WPI

Quincy, Mass. – The Framingham State University women's volleyball team went 1-1 today at a tri-match with WPI and hosted by Eastern Nazarene.  The Rams won the day's first match 3-1 over the hosts and dropped the middle match 3-1 to the Engineers.

With the split the Rams are now 13-8 on the year.

In the first match the duo of sophomores Andressa Fernandes (Framingham, Mass.) and Erin Connolly (Lakeville, Mass.) combined for 37 kills to lead the Rams attack.  Fernandes recorded a match-high 20 kills, while Connolly contributed a career-high 17.  Freshman Ashley Nee (Hanson, Mass.) added seven kills and 20 digs, while freshmen Kayla Bertrand (Agawam, Mass.) and Michelle DeJesus (Milford, Mass.) added 17 and 16 respectively.

In the match against WPI, Fernandes once again led the Rams with 21 kills, while Nee added six.  Freshman Morgan Drew (North Easton, Mass.) chipped in 33 assists, while Bertrand and Nee each contributed 21 digs.   

The Rams return to action on Tuesday when they travel to Bridgewater State at 6 p.m.
