Volleyball Goes 0-2 on Day 2 of Pride Invitational as Trudeau is Selected to the All-Tournament Team

Weston, Mass. – The Framingham State University volleyball team went 0-2 on day two of the Pride Invitational hosted by Regis College.  The Rams finish the weekend 3-3 at the tournament and are now 4-3 on the season.  Senior outside hitter Ashley Trudeau (Rockland, Mass.) was selected to the All-Tournament Team for her performance over the weekend.

The Rams opened the day with a 3-0 setback to Rhode Island College.  RIC won the match by scores of 25-19, 25-21 and 25-21.  Trudeau picked up 12 kills in the match while freshman Andressa Fernandes (Framingham, Mass.) added six with no hitting errors.

FSU closed out the tournament with a 3-1 loss to WPI. The Engineers won the first two sets 25-10 and 25-22 before the Rams won the third 25-23. WPI was able to close out the match in the fourth set, 25-20, and pick up the win.  Trudeau once again picked up double digit kills with 16 to go along with nine digs.  Classmate Jessi Goode (Marston Mills, Mass.) chipped in 19 digs, while Jackie Friel added seven kills and two blocks.

The Rams return to action on Tuesday night as they travel to Mt. Ida at 7 p.m.
