Volleyball Drops MASCAC Opener 3-2 to Bridgewater State

Framingham, MA - The Framingham State College volleyball team opened Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference (MASCAC) play tonight at home with a 3-2 loss (25-19, 26-28, 25-15, 22-25, 15-7) to Bridgewater State.  Bridgewater State improves to 2-0 in the MASCAC with the win and 4-11 overall, while the Rams fall to 5-9 overall and 0-1 in conference.

Bridgewater State was led by sophomore outside hitter Julie Clerc (Acushnet, MA) who had a team high 18 kills and two aces.  Fellow sophomore Natalie Cohen (Marston Mills, MA) added in 38 assists and two aces, while junior libero Brianne Cobb (New Bedford, MA), who served the final eight points of the match to lift Bridgewater to the win, chipped in with 20 digs.

Sophomore outside hitter Ashley Trudeau (Rockland, MA0 led the Rams with 15 kills and two aces, while senior Heather Winders (Plymouth, MA) added 29 assists.  Allie Appleman (Hyannis, MA) added 20 digs for the Rams.

The Rams return to action on Saturday as they travel to Emerson for a tri-match with St. Joseph's College (ME) beginning at 1 p.m., while the Bears travel to Worcester State on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
