Women's Track and Field Places Fifth at MASCAC Championships - Moniz Wins 400M Hurdles

Westfield, Mass. - The Framingham State University women's outdoor track and field team received a first place finish in the 400M hurdles from Jamie Moniz as the Rams finished fifth at the 2024 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Championships hosted by Westfield State this afternoon.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 

  • The Rams claimed the fifth spot in the standings, while Westfield State won the meet. 

  • Moniz had an outstanding day at her first MASCAC Championship meet finishing first in the 400m hurdles at 1:10.35. She added to that a third place finish in the javelin (31.38m), a seventh place finish in the high jump (1.37m) and a fourth place finish in the triple jump (10.15m). 

  • Natalie Grimaldo added a second place finish in the 400 hurdles finishing four hundredths of a second behind Moniz at 1:10.39. 

  • Alyssa Caputo had a strong day in the throwing events for the Rams. Caputo placed fourth in the javelin throw (24.24m), third in the shot put (10.67m), fifth in the hammer throw (32.85m) and a fourth place finish in the discus (31.23m). 

  • Kaylee Beck added a second place finish in the hammer throw at 37.21m, while also finishing sixth in the shot put at 10.03m. 

  • The Rams 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams both finished in fourth place.
