Bio

Michael LaFrancesca has been chosen as the next head coach for the Framingham State University women's soccer program as announced by Director of Athletics Tom Kelley.  

"We are delighted to be brining Michael on board as our next head women's soccer coach," said Kelley.  "Michael has had tremendous success as a coach at the high school and club levels and has vast contacts throughout the region and we look forward to him elevating our women's soccer program to the next level."

LaFrancesca joins the Rams coaching staff after serving an advisor to the women's soccer program at Lasell University.  Prior to joining the staff at Lasell, LaFrancesca spent 15 years as the varsity head coach at Medfield High School.  Under LaFrancesca's leadership, the Warriors won two state titles and were five time Tri-Valley League Champions.  The Warriors had four undefeated seasons and made the state tournament in each of seasons.  LaFrancesca was recognized three times as the Tri-Valley League Coach of the Year and in 2010 was the Boston Globe Coach of the year.

Prior to his time at Medfield High School, LaFrancesca spent five years as the head coach at Dana Hall where he was active in the recruitment of players in addition to planning and developing team strategies and guiding player development. Some of LaFrancesca's other coaching experience includes working with the Bay State Metro, the Boston Blast and the Watertown Public School.

LaFrancesca is a graduate of Suffolk University where he earned a bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration and went on to earn his MPA from Anna Maria College.
