Roger Williams Outlasts Women’s Soccer; 1-0

Framingham, Mass.- The Roger Williams University women's soccer team edged out Framingham State 1-0 in non-conference action Thursday evening in Framingham. With the win the Hawks improve to 7-0-3 and the Rams slip to 5-3-1.

The Hawks scored the lone goal of the contest in the 35th minute when junior Jenna Hart (Cheshire, CT) gathered a corner kick from classmate Kristen Casey (East Longmeadow, Mass.) and redirected it into the back of the net for what would prove to be the game winner.

The Rams best chance to score came late in the 1st half when junior Ashley Lees (Maynard, Mass.) won a 50/50 ball in the box but her shot when went wide of the frame.

Sophomore Natalie O'Donovan (Quincy, Mass.) made 5 saves in the shutout victory for RWU. Senior Sara Sullivan (Quincy, Mass.) made 11 saves in net for the Rams.

The Hawks outshot the Rams 24 to 10 and were called for 7 fouls to the Rams 6. 

The Hawks travel to Western New England for a CCC matchup on Saturday, October 3rd at 11:00 a.m. The Rams will host Bridgewater State in MASCAC action on the same day and time.
