DeSouza’s Hat Trick Leads Women’s Soccer to 11-1 Victory at Wheelock

Boston, Mass. – The Framingham State University women's soccer team defeated Wheelock College at Winsor Field on Wednesday evening. With the 11-1 victory the Rams improve to 2-1 on the season with the Wildcats falling to 0-4.

The Rams offense set the tone early when sophomore Michaela Hyland (East Longmeadow, MA) scored the game's first goal just fourteen seconds after the opening whistle. Moments later senior Isabela DeSouza (Framingham, MA) scored her first of three goals in the contest.

Junior Marissa Miele (Hudson, MA), freshman Darby Anderson (Plymouth, MA) and junior Brini Varetimos (North Attleboro, MA) each scored two goals while Hyland & senior Marisa Parent (Revere, MA) each netted a goal.
Framingham State held a 29-3 advantage in shots including 13-1 in shots on goal while also taking seven corner kicks to one for the home squad.
Wheelock returns to action on Thursday September 17th when they travel to Pine Manor for a 4:00 p.m. match. The Rams face off against Southern Maine at home on Saturday September 13th at 2:00 p.m.
