Women's Soccer Rolls to 8-1 Victory Over Mount Ida

Newton, Mass. – The Framingham State University women's soccer team erupted for eight goals as the Rams defeated Mount Ida College, 8-1, this afternoon in a non-conference match up at Alumni Field.

With the win, the Rams improve to 12-1-1 on the season, while the Mustangs fall to 3-14 on the year.

The Rams received a pair of unassisted goals from senior midfielder Kayla Austin (Winchester, Mass.), while juniors Marisa Parent (Revere, Mass.)  and Isabela DeSouza (Framingham, Mass.) and freshman Allisa Georgio (West Greenwich, RI) chipped in with a goal and an assist apiece.

Junior Emily Biegner and sophomore Marissa Miele each chipped in goals, while freshman Claryssa Cunniff (Framingham, Mass.) notched her first collegiate tally unassisted in the 61st minute of action.

Sophomore Sara Sullivan (Quincy, Mass.) recorded the victory in net running her season record to 9-0-1. Sullivan made five saves on the day as the Rams outshot the Mustangs 33-10 in the contest.  Rebecca Beauliue made 10 saves for Mount Ida but was tagged with the loss.   

The Rams close the regular season on Saturday afternoon when the host Westfield State University with the MASCAC regular season title and the top seed in the upcoming MASCAC Tournament on the line. The game begins at Maple Street Field at 2 p.m.
