Women's Soccer Blanks Curry 4-0

Milton, Mass. – The Framingham State University women's soccer team received a pair of goals apiece from senior Kayla Austin (Winchester, Mass.) and junior Isabela DeSouza (Framingham, Mass.) as they defeated Curry College 4-0 this evening on the road in non-conference action.

The Rams improve their record to 2-1 on the season, while the Colonels are suffer their first set back and are now 3-1.

DeSouza tallied the game winner in the 19th minute on an unassisted tally that was her first marker of the young season.

The game would remain 1-0 in favor of the visitors until the 60th minute when the Rams rattled off three goals in a six minute span to put the game out of reach.  Austin recorded her first goal of the season off an assist from sophomore Marissa Miele (Hudson, Mass.) at 59:01. DeSouza followed with her second unassisted tall of the game in the 64th minute, while Austin and Miele connected one more time for the final goal of the game at 65:13.

The Rams outshot the Colonels 25-14 in the game, while Curry had the advantage in corners (3-0).  Sophomore Sara Sullivan (Quincy, Mass.) recorded her second shutout victory of the season making eight saves.

The Rams return to action on Saturday afternoon at the University of Southern Maine for another non-conference tilt.
