Keene, N.H. – Junior Brittany Croteau (Swanzey, N.H.) and sophomore Kara Pavlidis (Lee, N.H.) each scored two goals to lead the Keene State College women's soccer team to a 5-0 shutout victory over Framingham State University at Owl Athletic Complex on Tuesday.

It was the second consecutive shutout win for the Owls, who improve to 8-5.  The Rams (5-5-1) saw their three game unbeaten streak come to an end.

Maintaining pressure in the FSU side of the field, the Owls got on the board at the 11:10 mark when Croteau jumped on a loose ball in the box and drove a well-place shot into the top corner of the net.   Just over a minute later, Croteau broke in alone for her team-leading seventh goal of the season.  Croteau just missed getting a hat trick when Ram freshman goalie McKenzie Vershon (Chicopee, Mass.) made a diving save on her bid late in the first half.

Pavlidis had a part in all three of Keene State's second half goals.   Five minutes into the half, she drove a hard shot that went off the hands of Vershon into the top right corner of the net to make it 3-0.  Two minutes later, Pavlidis sent a cross over to senior Sia Karamourtopolous (Fremont, N.H.) who deposited the ball into the net to put KSC up   4-0.  Pavlidis netted her second goal of the game and third of the season with a nice individual effort, shielding off a defender and knocking the ball into the net for the final goal of the game.

Keene State outshot Framingham State 24-4. All three KSC goalies, senior Megan Dempsey (East Weymouth, Mass.), and freshmen Victoria Tarabelli (Needham, Mass.) and Torrie Crenson (North Salem, N.Y.) saw action the game.  Tarbelli had two saves while Crenson made one stop. Vershon finished with 11 saves for the Rams.

Keene State hosts Eastern Conn. State in a key Little East Conference game on Saturday, while Framingham State is at MCLA on Saturday. Both games begin at 1 p.m.
