Women's Soccer Blanked by Bridgewater State

Framingham, MA - The Framingham State College women's soccer team was defeated this morning at Maple Street Field 2-0 by the Bridgewater State Bears.  The Bears improve to 9-2-3 overall and 5-1 in Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action, while the Rams fall to 2-4 in conference and 5-9 overall.

Senior forward Kaitlin Lamothe (Wrentham, MA) scored the game winner in the 71st minute off a cross from fellow senior Ashley Losi (Weymouth, MA).  The Bears would seal the win with an insurance goal in the 84th minute as Lamothe connected with junior midfielder Christine Soucy (Rockland, MA).

Framingham State goalie Kate Simonelli (Pittsfield, MA) made eight saves in a losing effort, while Ashley Spingler (West Springfield, MA) made nine saves and picked up the shut out win.

The Rams return to action on Tuesday as they play host to UMass Boston at 3 p.m. on Senior Day, while the Bears travel to Keene State at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
