Women's Soccer Edged by Nichols

Framingham, MA - Senior forward Kaila Gray (Pembroke, NH) scored the games only goal in the 52nd minute to lift the visiting Bison of Nichols College to a 1-0 non-conference win over Framingham State at Maple Street Field today.  It was the season opener for the Bison, who are now 1-0, while the Rams are 1-1.

The Rams offense applied pressure in the opening half as they out shot the Bison 8-4, but they were unable to capitalize on any of their scoring chances.  The Bison picked up their offensive intensity in the second half and had several quality scoring chances.  They were finally able capitalize in the 52nd minute as Gray moved thru the Rams defense and found the back of the net.

Senior goalie Sarah Levesque (Ludlow, MA) made four saves on the day and picked up the win, while Kate Simonelli (Pittsfield, MA) made five saves and picked up the loss.

The Rams return to action next Saturday as they host Keene State at 11 a.m., while the Bison travel to Newbury College on Tuesday.
