Women's Lacrosse to host Westfield State in MASCAC Championship Game

Framingham, Mass. – The Framingham State University women's lacrosse team earned the right to host the 2021 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women's Lacrosse Championship after going 3-1 in conference play this year. The Rams will host No. 2 seed Westfield State on Saturday, May 1 at 7 p.m. at Maple Street Field

At the end of the regular-season there was a three-way tie at the top of the MASCAC standings as Worcester State joined the Rams and Owls with 3-1 MASCAC records. Seeding was determined by conference's tiebreaking procedure.

The three tied teams were compared in head-to-head matchups including all games played during the regular season. Both the Rams and Owls had 2-1 records head-to-head, while the Lancers stood at 1-3 and were removed from tiebreaker. The Rams were awarded the top seed by virtue of their conference win over Westfield.

Framingham is led offensively by Hannah Guerin who is second in the conference in points (42), goals scored (29), and assists (13). Hannah Allen has been strong between the pipes with a league-best goals-against average at 7.29.

Sam Donohoe is leading the offensive charge for the Owls with 22 goals and 27 points. Meanwhile, Kara Banagan has done a great job denying opposing offenses with an 8.67 goals-against average and the league's second best save percentage at 54.9.
