Women's Lacrosse Soars Past Fitchburg State 21-6

Fitchburg, Mass. – The Framingham State University women's lacrosse team received seven goals and an assist from freshman Hannah Guerin (Cumberland, RI) as the Rams soared to a 21-6 victory over Fitchburg State University in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action this afternoon at Elliot Field.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

  • Guerin led all scorers with her seven goals and helper to go along with five ground balls and a draw control.
  • Sophomore Nicole Berry (New Hartford, Conn.) tallied five goals for the Rams, while junior Tara Palermo (Mashpee, Mass.) added four goals and two assists.
  • Freshman Rachel Erickson (Dunstable, Mass.) chipped in with a pair of goals, while senior Britney Herskowitz (Cheshire, Conn.) handed out five assists.
  • Senior Mikayla Seavey (Bridgewater, Mass.) earned the victory in net for the Rams making one save, while Francesca Reyes took the loss for the Falcons making eight stops.
  • The Falcons were led offensively by three goals from Mackenzie Ullrich, while Julia Miele added a goal and two assists.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Fitchburg State led 4-3 just over 10 minutes into the game, but the Rams took control of the contest with 10 straight goals to close the first half and open up a 13-4 lead.
  • The Rams opened the second half with six straight before the Falcons got on the board in the second half with just under 12 minutes left in the game. The Rams would tack on two more and the Falcons one in the final minutes to reach the final margin.
