Women’s Lacrosse Grabs Fifth Seed in MASCAC Championship Tournament

Framingham, Mass. – The Framingham State University women's lacrosse team has landed the fifth seed while Westfield State University has earned the top seed in the 2016 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women's Lacrosse Tournament.     

The fifth seeded Rams will travel to fourth seed Worcester State University on Tuesday, May 3rd at 4 pm for one quarterfinal game. The winner will advance to the semifinal round on Thursday night to face top seed Westfield State.

The third seed Fitchburg State Falcons hosts sixth seed Salem State University on Tuesday in the other quarterfinal with the winner advancing to face second seed Bridgewater State University on Thursday in the other semifinal.

The tournament will conclude on Saturday with the championship game at the highest remaining seed. The winner of the 2016 MASCAC Tournament will receive the conference's automatic bid to the 2016 NCAA Division III Women's Lacrosse Championship.

The Rams finished the season 9-8 overall and 3-4 in the MASCAC in route to the fifth seed.  They were led by sophomore Kimmy Foley (Mansfield, Mass.) who netted 52 goals and 10 assists for 62 points, while junior Kristen Hoggins added 22 goals and 13 helpers for 35 points.
