Boston, Mass. – The Framingham State University women's lacrosse team received a combined six goals from junior Lindsay Nixon and sophomore Kimmy Foley as the Rams defeated Wheelock College 8-3 this evening in non-conference action at the Winsor School.
The Rams have won three straight and improve to 5-3 on the year, while the loss drops the Wildcats to 5-4 on the season.
The Rams opened up a 6-0 lead at the half and never looked back. Nixon got the Rams on the board just over a minute into the game and Foley followed with three straight unassisted tallies to push the lead to 4-0 just over ten minutes into the contest. Senior Claryssa Cunniff and Nixon added goals in the final 10 minutes to reach the halftime differential.
Nixon scored off a Foley feed five minutes into the second half, before Wheelock scored two straight to cut the deficit to 7-2. The two teams traded goals in the final two minutes to reach the final margin.
Freshman Indigo Fox Tree-McGrath earned the win in net making one save in a half of action, while senior Alysha Cericola made seven saves in her half of work.
