Westfield Defeats Women's Lacrosse 21-8

Westfield, Mass. – Juniors Laura Chiricosta and Rachel Dionne both tallied eight points to lead Westfield State to 21-8 victory over Framingham State in women’s lacrosse action Tuesday, April 20.

Westfield upped its overall record to 9-2 and remains in first place in the New England Women’s Lacrosse Alliance (NEWLA) with a 4-0 mark. Framingham is now 5-4 overall and 1-2 in the conference.

Westfield led 6-1 seven minutes into the game and 10-4 at the intermission. The Owls took a 15-5 lead over the undermanned Rams with 19:45 remaining and maintained a double-digit lead the remainder of the game.

Dionne (4 goals, 4 assists) and senior Ally Brown (4 goals, 1 assist) tied for game-high honors in goals scored. Chiricosta contributed three goals and a game-high five assists.

Carly Keeley (3 goals, 1 assist) and Ari Colella (2 goals, 2 assists) were Westfield’s other top point producers.

Kerry Kiley (3 goals, 2 assists) and Ashley Noonan (3 goals, 1 assist) paced the Rams.
