Women’s Basketball Earns #2 Seed in MASCAC Tournament; Will Host Semifinal on Thursday

Framingham Mass The Framingham State University women's basketball team has finished tied for second place in the MASCAC after posting a 9-3 conference record. The Rams earn the #2 seed and first-round bye in this week's MASCAC Championship Tournament.  

The Rams were led this season by the duo of juniors Katty Haidul & Flannery O'Connor. O'Connor averaged a double-double of 17.7 points per game and 10.2 rebounds. Her average points per game were first while rebounds second at the end of the regular season. She also was in the top five in field goal percentage (51.5), free throw percentage (78.2), total rebounds (194) and blocks (21). 

Haidul also averaged a double-double with 16.9 points and a league-leading 11.3 rebounds per game. She was ranked third in the league in points, led the league in free throw percentage (82.3) and was second in field goal percentage (57.3) only trailing to fellow Ram Kelsey Yelle (65.7). 

On the other side of the bracket top-seeded Bridgewater State will host the winner of Tuesday's first round game between #4 Salem State and #5 Worcester State.  

The Rams will host the winner of the quarterfinal round of #3 Westfield State and #6 MCLA on Thursday at 7pm. The Tournament Championship will take place on Saturday, February 25th hosted by the highest remaining seed.
