Framingham, Mass – Framingham State sophomore Gwendolyn Carpenter has been named the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the week ending February 27th .
Carpenter was named MASCAC Tournament Most Valuable Player after the Rams defeated Bridgewater State 84-69 in the MASCAC Championship on Saturday afternoon. Carpenter averaged 21 points, 8.5 assists and 5.5 rebounds while shooting 10-for-19 (52.6 percent) from the field over the two games this week. She scored 20 points with nine assists and six rebounds in the 84-69 Title Game and netted 22 points, eight assists and five rebounds in the 81-63 semifinal win over Worcester State.
