O'Day's Last Second Bucket Lifts Women's Basketball Past Worcester State 75-73
Framingham, Mass. – Senior guard Mary Kate O'Day (Berlin, Mass.) drove the length of the court and sank a contested layup with 7.3 seconds on the clock to propel the Framingham State University women's basketball team to a 75-73 victory over Worcester State University in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action at the Athletic Center.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- O'Day paced the Rams on the offensive end with a team-high 26 points, seven rebounds, two assists, two steals and a block.
- Senior Emily Velozo (Tewksbury, Mass.) added 20 points on 5-of-6 from the floor and 9-of-10 from the line, while freshman Flannery O'Connor (Amesbury, Mass.) added 12 points, eight rebounds and two blocks.
- The Lancers were led by a game-high 28 points from senior Mya Mosley (Worcester, Mass.). Mosley connected on 11-of-19 from the floor including 3-of-5 from behind the arc.
- Freshman Erin Gallella (Tewksbury, Mass.) added nine points for the Lancers, while classmate Charlotte MacMillan (Brunswick, ME) added eight points off the bench.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The opening quarter was tied 13-13 after back-to-back deep threes from O'Day, but the Lancers closed the frame with 16-4 spurt taking a 29-17 lead after one.
- The Lancers extended the lead to 19 (36-17) on a Mosley jumper with 7:37 on the clock in the second. The Rams closed the gap to eight on a Velozo layup with 3:31 on the clock before the Lancers headed to the locker room leading 43-33.
- Worcester maintained the double digit lead throughout the third and led 63-48 after three.
- The Rams trailed 69-56 just under three minutes into the fourth quarter and closed the gap to 70-60 on a pair of Sarah Sullivan (Sheffield, Mass.) free throws with 5:15 on the clock.
- The Rams used a 13-2 run over the next four minutes to take their first lead of the game, 73-72, on a three point play from O'Day with 1:01 on the clock. During the spurt the Rams scored seven straight including buckets from Sullivan and O'Connor.
- The Lancers tied the game at 73-73 when Mosley sank one of two free throws with 21.4 on the clock.
- Sullivan rebounded the second shot for the Rams and got the ball to O'Day. O'Day drove the court and sank a layup in the paint with 7.3 on the clock. The Lancers had one final possession, but could not get a shot off.
