Minor Named to 2012-13 All-MASCAC First Team

Buzzards Bay, Mass. – Senior forward Kia Minor (Edgartown, Mass.) has been selected to the 2012-13 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women's Basketball All-Conference First Team.   

Minor, who earned a pair of Player of the Week honors this season, averaged 15.4 points, nine rebounds, and 2.8 steals per game this season which all rank among the conference leaders.  She tallied a team-best nine double doubles on the season while shooting 48.6% from the floor.  Minor became the eighth Framingham State women's basketball player to reach the 1,000 point plateau as she eclipsed the mark against Westfield.  This is Minor's second All-MASCAC selection as she landed on the second team in 2010-11 as a sophomore.

The Rams finished the 2012-13 regular season 13-11 overall and 6-6 in the MASCAC which earned them the fourth seed in the 2013 MASCAC Women's Basketball Championship Tournament.

The Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference, the nation's oldest Division III men's and women's playing conference, has a rich and storied tradition of competitive success while celebrating excellence in the classroom.  MASCAC member schools include Bridgewater State University, Fitchburg State University, Framingham State University, MCLA, Massachusetts Maritime Academy, Salem State University, Westfield State University and Worcester State University.  Two other institutions, the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and Plymouth State University, are affiliate members of the conference in the sport of men's ice hockey and football, while Western Connecticut State University will join the conference as an affiliate member in football beginning in 2013-14.
