Women’s Basketball Picks up Fourth Straight Victory with 75-64 Win over Nichols

Framingham, Mass. – The Framingham State University Lady Rams defeated the Nichols College Bison 76-64 on Tuesday night in non-conference action.  Senior Madeleine Park (Blue Hill, ME) lead the Rams offensively with 21 points on 8-of-13 shooting from the field as the Rams would never look back from a 15-point halftime lead.  

Senior forward Kia Minor (Edgartown, Mass.) and junior guard Kristen Hoffman (Foxboro, Mass.) had 13 points apiece for the Rams. 

Despite the loss, senior Hayley Zophin (Framingham, Mass.) had a monster game with 25 points and 20 rebounds for the Bison.  Nichols now stands at 2-5 on the season and Zophin would after the game say, "we have one more game before were off for winter break, we need to keep our heads up high and get out of this tough slump."

Sophomore Alexis Wegrzynek (Wilbraham, Mass.) had 14 points and nine rebounds for Nichols in the losing effort. 

Head Coach for the Rams, Elizabeth Brosseau also spoke about keeping her team focused during a busy week with Christmas and exams nearing.  "We have great leadership so it really helps to keep us focused," Brosseau said. 

With the victory, the Rams have won their fourth straight after starting the season 1-3.  They will host St. Joseph's College (ME) this Saturday at 1 p.m. and will not resume action until after the New Year on January 2nd against Wellesley College. 

The Bison will host Anna Maria this Thursday and will not play again until January 5th when they host Wentworth.
