Softball Sits Tied Atop 2023 MASCAC Softball Preseason Poll

Framingham, Mass. – The Framingham State University softball team sits tied atop the 2023 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Softball Preseason poll with Bridgewater State and Worcester State in a vote conducted by the league's coaches.

Reigning MASCAC Tournament Champion Framingham, reigning MASCAC Regular Season Champions Bridgewater and Worcester all received 42 total points with Bridgewater and Worcester securing three first place votes each and Framingham collecting the remaining two first place votes.

The Rams went 10-4 during MASCAC action in 2022 and secured the MASCAC Tournament Title after defeating Bridgewater State twice. Camille Desrochers returns for the Rams after earning her fourth all-conference selection in 2022.  Desrochers posted a .307 average and a .428 OBP with 10 doubles, three homeruns, 16 RBI while scoring 34 runs and walking a league best 21 times.

Westfield State landed in the fourth spot with 33 points, while Fitchburg State took the fifth spot with 23 points.  Salem State following in sixth with 21 points and MCLA and Massachusetts Maritime rounded out the poll in seventh and eighth.

The Rams open the 2023 season on March 12th with games against Nichols and Clarkson.
