Gunarathne Named MASCAC Pitcher of the Week

Framingham, Mass.- Senior pitcher Kelsi Gunarathne (North Providence, RI) has been named the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Softball Pitcher of the Week for the week ending March 31st.

Gunarathne went 3-1 in five appearances with a 2.15 ERA over 26 innings of work with 22 strikeouts. Went seven innings and earned a complete game victory over UMass Dartmouth allowing two runs, one earned, on three hits with five walks and six strikeouts.

Gunarathne earned both victories in the doubleheader sweep of MCLA as she became the Framingham State career strikeout leader. She went three innings in the opener without allowing a hit or walk and striking out four. The senior came back and went the distance in game two for the shutout victory allowing three hits with six strikeouts and no walks.
