Gunarathne & Finacchiaro Earn Final MASCAC Softball Weekly Honors of 2017
Framingham, Mass. – Sophomore pitcher Kelsi Gunarathne (North Providence, RI) has been named the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Pitcher of the Week and sophomore DP Kayla Finacchiaro (Natick, Mass.) has been named the MASCAC Player of the Week for the week ending May 14th that saw the Rams go 1-2 in the NCAA Tournament.
Gunarathne made two appearances and tossed 13 innings allowing four earned run on 14 hits with 10 strikeouts and 2.15 ERA during the NCAA Division III Softball Tournament. Gunarathne recorded a complete game victory in a 4-2 win over Lesley. She allowed two unearned runs on five hits with nine strikeouts.
Finacchiaro batted .300 with a double, homerun and four RBI with a .700 slugging percentage during the tournament. She went 2-for-4 with four RBI in the Rams 4-2 victory over Lesley University including the game-winning three run homerun.
