Dziok, Pietersen and Johnson Sweep MASCAC Weekly Softball Honors
Framingham, Mass. – Junior Anna Dziok (Southampton, Mass.) has been named the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Softball Player of the Week, junior Jessica Pietersen (Norton, Mass.) has been named the MASCAC Pitcher of the Week and freshman Kyla Johnson (North Attleboro, Mass.) has been named the MASCAC Softball Rookie of the Week for the week ending April 3rd.
Dziok earns her first player of the week honor this season after batting .412 (7-for-17) with two homeruns, two doubles, two RBI and six runs scored in a 5-1 week for the Rams. Dziok went 2-for-3 with a walk, a homerun and three runs scored in the Rams 6-2 win over Fitchburg State on Sunday. She also went 3-for-6 with a double, a homerun, an RBI and a run scored in a sweep of New England College.
Pietersen earns her first pitcher of the week honor after going 3-0 in the circle last with for the Rams. She recorded three complete games allowing just 11 hits and three earned runs over 21 innings. Pietersen tossed a complete game two hit shutout in a 3-0 win over Fitchburg State and allowed just two runs on three hits in a seven inning 9-2 win over Johnson & Wales.
Johnson records her first rookie of the week honor after batting .353 (6-for-17) with three runs scored, two stolen bases and two RBI this week. Johnson went 2-for-4 with a double, RBI and a run scored in a 7-3 win over New England College. She collected three hits and two runs scored in split with Johnson & Wales and went 1-for-2 with a walk in a 6-2 win over Fitchburg.
