Softball Falls to Amherst and Wesleyan at NTC Games

Clermont, Fla. – The Framingham State University softball team dropped a pair of game this morning at the NTC Games. The Rams were defeated 15-3 by Amherst College in the opener and were narrowly edged by Wesleyan 2-0 in the nightcap.

The Rams and Wesleyan were scoreless heading into the fifth inning, but Wesleyan (9-3) was able to scratch across a single run in the fifth and one in the sixth to secure the victory.

Freshman Kelsi Gunarathne (North Providence, RI) took the loss in the game going seven innings and allowing two runs, one earned, on seven hits with six strikeouts and two walks.

Junior Marissa Flynn (Marlborough, Mass.) led the Rams at the plate going 2-for-3, while freshman Lauren Salisbury went 1-for-3 with a double.

The Rams are idle tomorrow, but are back in action with a pair of games on Thursday when they face the University of New England and Fredonia.
