Softball Shutout by Springfield College

Clermont, Fla. – The Framingham State University softball team was shutout this evening by Springfield College, 7-0, at the Dot Richardson Spring Games.

Springfield College (4-1) starting pitcher Ashley Marino tossed a gem surrendering just one hit in a complete game effort.  Marino struck out seven with just two walks and did not allow a hit until junior Tiffany Agostini (Rehoboth, Mass.) singled past the diving third baseman in the bottom of the seventh inning.

Sophomore Alex Ferri (Winthrop, Mass.) went 5 and a third innings allowing five earned runs on eight hits with two strikeouts and four walks.  Junior Andrea Smith (Milford, Mass.) tossed an inning and two thirds of relief allowing two runs, both unearned, on five hits.
