Softball Ends Spring Break Trip with Losses to Wisconsin-River Falls and Millikin

Kissimmee, Fla. — The Framingham State College softball team closed its 2010 spring break at the Rebel Spring Games in Kissimmee, Fla. today with two losses.  The Rams lost their first game 8-0 in five innings to Wisconsin-River Falls and fells in the second 7-3 Millikin.  The Rams return home with a 2-8 record and return to action on March 30th at home against Johnson & Wales.

After a scoreless first inning, River Falls scored four runs in the second inning on a solo home run, a two run homer and an RBI single off Framingham State starter Alysia Morrissette (Ware, Mass.).  Morrissette went five innings for the Rams allowing eight runs (six earned) on 11 hits.  The Falcons added three more runs in the third and a single run in the fifth to reach the final margin of 8-0.

River Falls starting pitcher Rose Tusa went three innings allowing only three hits before giving way to Brittany Duellman, who surrendered one hit in two innings of relief.  Sophomore Alyssa Shea (Lakeville, Mass.) had two of the Rams four hits in the game.

Junior Andrea DiTerlizzi (Shrewsbury, Mass.) started game two for the Rams and went five innings allowing seven runs (five earned) on 10 hits before giving way to sophomore Kristyna Smith (Orleans, Mass.) who pitched one scoreless inning of relief. 

The Rams scored a single run in the top of the sixth on an RBI single to left from Shea and two runs in the top of the seventh on back to back RBI singles from DiTerlizzi and freshman second baseman Taylor Ezold (Westfield, Mass.).
