Men’s Soccer Tabbed 2nd in MASCAC Preseason Poll

Framingham, Mass.- The Framingham State University men's soccer team has been chosen second in the 2019 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Soccer Preseason Poll as voted upon by the eight MASCAC head coaches.

The Rams received 44 points and four first place votes finishing just behind Bridgewater State with 46 points and also four first place votes. The 2018 Rams were the MASCAC Regular Season Champions posting a 5-0-2 record in league play. The Rams earned the top seed in the MASCAC Tournament before being edged by the Bears in the Tournament Championship game by a score of 5-3.

The Rams return 2018 MASCAC Offensive Player of the Year Bryce Nardizzi (Framingham, Mass.) as well two-time All-MASCAC selection Isaac De Souza (Sao Paulo, Brazil). Nardizzi, an all-region selection a year ago, led the Rams with 39 points on 15 goals and nine assists. De Souza put together another strong season in his junior campaign with 31pints on 11 goals and nine assists.

After the Rams and Bears landed Salem State in third place with 43 points followed by Worcester State collecting 29 points. The final two teams predicted to earn spots in the postseason were Westfield State with 26 points and Mass Maritime with 17 tallies. Fitchburg State and MCLA rounded out the poll with 12 and 7 points, respectively.

The Rams open the 2019 season when they travel to Emmanuel on Saturday, August 31st at 3:00pm.
