Strong First Half Send Men’s Soccer Over Anna Maria

Paxton, Mass.- The Framingham State men's soccer team scored four first half goals en route to a 4-1 victory over Anna Maria in non-conference action Tuesday evening in Framingham. With the win the Rams improve to 5-4 while the AMCATS slip to 1-6-1.

The Rams opened the scoring in the 15th minute when Lucas Medeiros (Hudson, Mass.) converted on a corner kick for an unassisted tally. Just under two minutes later Jeff Braverman (Framingham, Mass.) gathered his own rebound and sent it into the back of the net.

Braverman struck again ten minutes later when he redirected Jonathan Parker's (Danbury, Essex) free kick. The Rams capped off the scoring in the 43rd minute when Ken Stahovish (Springfield, Mass.) scored with Gerardo Ramirez (Burlington, Mass.) assisting.

The AMCATS got on the board in the 61st minute when Gift Kalombo converted a 1-on-1 with the goalie after a long pass from Chris Mattioli.

Corey Davidge (Blackstone, Mass.) earned the win in net for the Rams playing the first half before giving way to Jesse Guillette (Brimfield, Mass.) & Dennis Siaw (Leominster, Mass.) who split time in the second frame. Mark Robinshaw made 8 saves in the setback for Anna Maria.

The Rams outshot the AMCATS 23-to-9 in the contest including a 13-to-3 margin in the first frame.

The Rams return to action on Friday, September 30th when they host Bridgewater State in MASCAC action.
