Men's Soccer Blanked by Clark

Framingham, Mass.- The Framingham State men's soccer team suffered a 1-0 setback vs. Clark University in non-conference action Tuesday evening in Framingham. The game was originally scheduled for Wednesday, October 28th but was moved to Tuesday in anticipation of poor weather in the greater Boston area on Wednesday.

With the win the Cougars are 6-9-1 on the season while the Rams slip to 5-12.

The Cougars scored the game's lone goal in the 24th minute when junior TJ Zirkman (Freehold, NJ) sent a long strike towards the net that tipped off the keepers hands and snuck inside the right post to give them the early lead.

The Rams had many opportunities to score including in the 76th minute when the Rams sent a corner kick bending toward the near post that was then redirected to the far side but a diving save by the Cougars keeper kept the Rams off the board.

The Cougars outshot the hosts 26-to-19 but were called for 12 fouls to the Rams 5.

Alistair Richardson (Tolland, Conn.) made 10 saves in the shutout victory. His counterpart Josh Arno (Natick, Mass.) made 14 saves in the loss.

The Rams return to action on senior day, Saturday, October 31st when they host MCLA in the regular season finale. The Cougars host Wheaton College in NEWMAC action on the same day.
