Framingham, Mass. – The Framingham State University Men's Soccer team defeated the Daniel Webster Eagles by a score of 3-0 at the Maple St. Field on the FSU campus on Tuesday afternoon.

Freshman Jamie Plowman (Westborough, MA) led the Rams with two goals and an assist on the day for his first five collegiate points. Plowman opened up the scoring for the Rams netting his first collegiate goal in the tenth minute of play. Plowman booted a low strike into the right side of the net after a turnover in the Rams' offensive zone.

The Rams extended the lead to two goals ten minutes later when Plowman beat the keeper after a beautiful long pass from sophomore Kelvin Okyere (Auburn, MA). Framingham State scored what would be their final goal in the thirty-third minute of the first half. Freshman Suhairu Kato (Lowell, MA) tapped in a one-time shot into an open net after a beautiful cross from Plowman.

The Eagles best opportunity to score came with just under three minutes to play in the first half when a Framingham St. foul setup a direct kick for the Eagles. An Eagles player sent a long pass into the box and Richard Eaton sent a header floating towards the net. Rams goalkeeper sophomore Jacob Nichols (Sturbridge, MA/ Tantasqua) made a leaping save to protect his shutout, his second on the young season.

Sean Hamilton made seven saves and allowed three goals in ninety minutes for the Eagles. The Rams outshot the Eagles seventeen to thirteen and were called for sixteen fouls to the Eagles fourteen.

The Rams return to action this Saturday when they travel to Mass.-Dartmouth for a non-conference game schedule for 3:30 p.m.
