Men’s Soccer Ends Regular Season with 1-0 Loss to Westfield State

Framingham, Mass.  — The Westfield State University men's soccer team secured the top seed in next week's Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) men's soccer tournament with a 1-0 win today on the road over the Framingham State University Rams.    

Westfield State improves to 14-3 on the season and 6-1 in the MASCAC.  The Rams are now 11-8 overall and 4-3 in the conference. Framingham State has secured the fourth seed for the upcoming MASCAC Tournament and will travel to Westfield State on Wednesday.

Sophomore midfielder Jon Principato (Stoneham, Mass.) scored the game winner for the Owls in the 79th minute to break a scoreless tie and propel the Owls to victory.

Senior Greg Halle (Beverly, Mass.) picked up the loss in net for the Rams and made six saves, while junior Jeff Pepoli (Ashburnham, Mass.) made four saves for the Owls.
