Silva & Austin Honored by NSCAA

Framingham, MA - Framingham State College placed two players on the 2008 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)/adidas NCAA Division III Men's All-New England Regional Teams.  Sophomore midfielder Jason Silva (Milford, MA) received a first team nod, while junior back Sean Austin (Winchester, MA) was selected third team.

The Framingham State College men's soccer team finished the 2008 campaign 16-3-2 en route to their second consecutive Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference (MASCAC) regular season championship and their first MASCAC Tournament Championship.  The Rams were eliminated in the opening round of the NCAA Division III Tournament by Middlebury College on penalty kicks.

Silva was a first team All-MASCAC selection and led the conference in points (34), points per game (1.7), goals (14) and goals per game (0.70).  Austin, who was also a first team All-MASCAC selection in 2008, was an integral part of the Rams defense that ranked third in the conference in goals allowed per game (0.95) and held opponents scoreless 10 times on the season.
