Men's Soccer Drops 1-0 Decision to WPI

Framingham, MA - The Framingham State College men's soccer team was shut out for only the second time this season at home today as they were defeated 1-0 by the visiting Engineers of WPI.  The only other time the Rams went scoreless this season was a 0-0 double overtime tie with Westfield State back on September 20th

The Engineers (5-5) took the lead for good in the 17th minute of play as junior defender Tommy Zajac (Merrimack, NH) sent a cross into the box that junior midfielder Evan Demers-Peel (Norton, MA) headed into the back of the net past the Rams keeper.

The Rams (8-2-1) had their chances to score as they outshot the Engineers 23-14 on the day, but were unable to make any of their opportunities count.  Sophomore Paul Moan (Watertown, MA) went the distance in net for WPI and made 14 saves as he picked up the shut out victory.

Framingham State goalie Greg Halle (Beverly, MA) kept the Rams within striking distance as he made seven saves on the day and allowed only the one goal.

Both teams return to action on Saturday as the Rams travel to Salem State at 1 p.m., while the Engineers host Clark at 1:30 p.m.
