Ice Hockey Suffers 6-2 Setback at Franklin Pierce

WinchendonMass  The Franklin Pierce ice hockey team scored twice in each period en route to a 6-2 non-conference win over Framingham State Tuesday evening in Winchendon. 

THE BASICS: 

- Score: Franklin Pierce 6, Framingham State 2 

- Records: Framingham State (1-8), Franklin Pierce (1-7) 

- Location: Winchendon, Mass.  

HOW IT HAPPENED:  

  • The Ravens got on the board in the 7th minute when Alex O'Dowd finished off a rebounded shot from Trever Lawler.

  • The hosts added to their lead in the final minute of the first when Jason Ladzinksi converted a 2-on-1 with Chris Stevenson. 

  • The Rams answered early in the second when Bryan Whelan cashed in on a 2-on-0 with help from Jared Tyson 

  • FPU answered a few minutes later when Dom Norris blasted one from the top left circle.  

  • The Rams countered moments later with a Dylan Marty goal to cut the deficit back to 3-2.  

  • Again, the hosts answered with a powerplay goal of their own from Lasziniski. 

  • Tyler Rudek and Wyatt De Lise would both score in the third from the Ravens to reach the final margin.  

 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: 

  • Blake Carlson made 27 saves in the loss for the Rams while Adam Carman made 21 saves in the victory for the Ravens. 

  • The Rams were 0-for-3 on the power play while the host Ravens were 2-for-2 on the man-advantage.  

  • The visitors outshot the Rams 33-to-23 in the contest.
