Fitchburg State Too Much For Men’s Ice Hockey

Framingham, Mass. – The Fitchburg State men's ice hockey team scored three goals in the second period to propel them to a 4-0 victory on the road over Framingham State on Saturday evening at Loring Arena in Framingham.

After playing a majority of the first period without a penalty or score the Rams were called for a slash at 18:26. Coming out of the break the Falcons took advantage when Ryan Connolly (Wappinger Falls, NY) scored a power play goal 17 seconds into the second period. John Celli (Leominster, Mass.) and Craig Halpin (Irvington, NY) were credited with assists on the score.

Just ten seconds later the Falcons extended the lead when Jon Johannesson (Red Lake, Ont.) scored on a pass from Paul Falanga (East Haven, CT). Falanga scored an unassisted goal later in the period and Cameron Snyder (Shawnee, KS) scored an empty netter with just over a minute remaining in regulation.

The Rams ourshot the Falcons 38 to 27 but were 0/2 on the power play. The Falcons converted ¼ on the advantage.

Ryan Wysocki (Grand Rapids, MI) made 38 saves for his first shutout of the season. Alessio Muggli (Rueti, Switzerland) made 23 saves and allowed three of the four Fitchburg goals in his 58:19 in net.

The Rams travel to New England College on November 25th with faceoff at 7:00 p.m. The Falcons travel the SNHU on Saturday, November 29th. a
