Framingham, Mass. - After coming off their first win of the season on Tuesday night, the Framingham State Rams fell to Worcester State on Thursday night, 7-2.  The Lancers were able to pick up their first conference win on the season and are now 1-3, while the Rams fell to 0-4 in the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC).

Worcester State scored early in the first period on a puck that appeared to deflect off a Framingham State defender.  The Lancers took a 1-0 lead and would soon add more when junior Ryan Quirk (Brockton, Mass.) scored giving the Lancers a two goal lead.

The Rams would cut their defect in half when junior Daniel Miressi (Monroe, Conn.) scored as sophomores Dylan Cosford (Windsor, Ontario) and Ryan McDonald (Anchorage, AK) assisted on the play.

However Worcester State soon again answered when freshman Derek Serbon (Crown Point, IN) gave the Lancers a 3-1 lead after goalie Salvatore Tecci (Franlkin, Mass.) assisted on the play.

McDonald would get the Rams back to within a goal late in the first period.  Miressi and Cosford assisted on the play giving the Rams hope, trailing 3-2 at the end of the first period.

The Lancers would score three more goals on Rams starter Herbert Kyles (Overland Park, KS) before he was lifted in the third period and replaced by Dale Adams (Gardner, Mass.).   Kyles was making his second career start after getting the win in the Rams Tuesday night victory at Southern New Hampshire.

Seven different Lancers scored while sophomore defenseman Cody Osburn (Sacramento, CA) had three assists.

Coach T.J Brown of the Rams in his fourth season after said, "We were coming off a big win the other night, and that first goal set us back a bit.  No excuses though."

Worcester State will be back on the road this Saturday when they travel to Plymouth State.

After winning a tournament hosted at Nichols College over the weekend, head coach John Guiney in his 21stseason said, "We were struggling a bit, but we won that tournament and it gave us some momentum to come in here and get a win."

As for the Rams, captain Bo Driscoll said, "We have to show up to practice and clear our heads and get back to winning hockey. "

Framingham State will have that opportunity on Saturday when they host Assumption at 7:30 pm.
