Miressi Selected Second Team All-MASCAC

Buzzards Bay, Mass. – Framingham State University sophomore forward Daniel Miressi has been named to the 2011-2012 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Ice Hockey All-Conference Second Team in voting conducted by the league's seven coaches and announced by the conference office this morning.

The Monroe, Conn native, who was the MASCAC Rookie of the Year and a second team selection a season ago, was the Rams offensive leader as he ranked among the conference's leading scorers.  Miressi picked up 26 points in 24 games of action with a team-best 12 goals and 14 assists.   He tallied 20 of his 26 points in conference action on nine goals and 11 helpers with two power play goals and one shorthanded tally.  In his two seasons Miressi has accumulated 56 points (30 goals-26 assists).  As a team, the Rams finished the 2011-12 season 6-15-4 overall and 3-12-3 in the conference.

The Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference, the nation's oldest Division III men's and women's playing conference, has a rich and storied tradition of competitive success while celebrating excellence in the classroom.  MASCAC member schools include Bridgewater State University, Fitchburg State University, Framingham State University, MCLA, Massachusetts Maritime Academy, Salem State University, Westfield State University and Worcester State University.  Two other institutions, the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and Plymouth State University, are affiliate members of the conference in the sport of men's ice hockey.
