Framingham, Mass. - The Becker College ice hockey team held off a third period surge by the Framingham State University Rams to pick up a 6-3 non-conference win tonight at Framingham's Loring Arena.  With the win, the Hawks move to 4-4-2 on the season, while the Rams are now 0-9.

In the second, the Rams struck first as freshman Eric Ward (Haverhill, Mass.) scored a power play goal off a feed from senior John Sheehan (Stoughton, Mass.) at 7:42 to cut the Hawks lead to 4-1.  Bellew would score his second of the game, a power play goal at 17:59, to give the Hawks a 5-1 lead after two.

Junior forward Aran Ward (Dunstable, Mass.) would score twice for the Rams in the third period to pull the Rams within two with just over five minutes remaining in the game, but Shea scored his second of the game for the Hawks at 17:48 to reach the final margin of 6-3.

Eric Ward finished the game with a goal and two assists for the Rams, while Sullivan finished the game allowing three goals while making 32 saves.  Junior Jake Rosenthal (Wantagh, NY) picked up the win in net for the Hawks as he made 19 saves and allowed three goals, while David Graham (Rancho Cucamonga, CA) and Jeremy Norducci (Apex, NC) added two assists apiece.

The Rams return to action after the New Year as they host Westfield State on Thursday, January 13th at 7:20 p.m., while the Hawks square off against the University of New England at the Plymouth State Invitational on December 30th at 7 p.m.
