Vikings Cruise Past Men’s Basketball

Framingham, Mass. - The Salem State men's basketball team defeated Framingham State by a score of 84-69 in MASCAC action Saturday afternoon at Logan Gymnasium. 

THE BASICS: 

- Score:  Salem State 84, Framingham State 69 

- Records:  Framingham State (4-14, 1-4 MASCAC), Salem State (6-13, 3-3 MASCAC) 

- Location:  Logan Gymnasium – Framingham, Mass. 

HOW IT HAPPENED:  

  • The Vikings led by three with 12:57 to play in the first and ripped off a 13-0 run capped off by a Chris MacDonald trey to lead 29-13 just over midway through the frame and took a 43-28 lead into halftime. 

  • Salem would push their lead to as much as 22 with 7:27 remaining in the game and would close out the 84-69 win.  

 
  • MacDonald led all scorers with 23 points on 9-of-16 from the floor while dishing out three assists. Javier Osorio added 15 points while Jaden Castillo added 14 in the win for the Vikings. 

  • The Rams were led by Juran Ligonde who scored 20 adding seven rebounds. Ryan England and JD Okafor each added 14 for the Rams.  

  • The Vikings shot 47% from the floor and 83% from the line. The Rams shot 45% from the field and struggled again from the line shooting 57% from the charity stripe.  

UP NEXT: 

The Rams return to the court on Wednesday evening when they travel to Worcester State for a MASCAC tilt starting at 5:30pm. The Vikings will be off until a week from today when they also travel to Worcester State for a noon start.
