Men's Basketball Falls at Wheaton College

Norton, Mass.  – The Wheaton College men's basketball team received double figures from three players as the Lyons defeated the Framingham State University Rams 74-49 this evening. With the win, the Lyons improve to 4-2 on the season, while the Rams fall to 1-4.

Liam Bruno paced the hosts with 17 points on 7-of-10 shooting from the floor to go along with five rebounds, two assists and two steals.  Duaka Ekwensi added 15 points and eight boards, while Ryan Fogarty added 14 points and two boards.

The Rams received a team-high 17 points from junior Manny Payton (Fitchburg, Mass.). Payton connected on 5-of-8 from behind the arc and added eight boards.  Sophomore Tyri Hampton (Fitchburg, Mass.) added 15 points and three assists, while sophomore Steve Vayda added seven points.

The Lyons connected on 47% of their shots from the floor, but struggled from three connecting on just 2-of-14 from behind the arc.  The Rams shot 44% from long distance (10-of-23), but only shot 34% from the floor overall.

The Rams are back in action on Thursday night when they travel to WPI for a 7 p.m. contest.
