Men’s Basketball Falls to Bates

New York, NY. – The Framingham State men's basketball team was defeated in the championship of the NYU Classic by Bates College 69-40 Friday evening in New York City. With the win the Bobcats move to 8-3 while the Rams slip to 3-9. 

The Bobcats were led by the Delpeche twins each recording a double double. Malcolm Depeche scored 23 points with eleven rebounds while Marcus added 11 points and 11 boards.

The Rams received a 15-point contribution from Tony Alexandre while Manny Payton added eight points. 

The Bobcasts took control of the game early on as they commanded a 16-4 lead about halfway through the 1st half which was featured by Malcolm Depeche scoring the first 12 points of the game for Bates.

Bates shot 48.3 percent from the floor (28-of-58) and from long range. (7-for-16). The Rams shot 32 percent from the field (16-for-50) and 16.7 percent from long range (3-for-18).

The Rams return to action on Wednesday, January 4th when they host Salem State at 6:00 p.m. to open up MASCAC play.
